I would have given this full stars but something shocking happened which greatly influenced my rating.
I had chosen this lender because it was recommended by my realtor and it is a local. The loan officer, Nicole Francis, had a great personality. While I was shopping for a lender, Nicole was the only one who invited us to go to her office. That meeting is probably the reason why I chose her to be our lender (we were already prequalified by one lender and pre-approved by another). I felt that I would be comfortable dealing with her in case I had questions and if I encountered any problems. She discussed our options and she gave us the lowest possible rate. We had our rate locked but it expired before the closing date. The loan documents said that there was a feed to extend the lock rate but Nicole did not even charged us.
Two or three weeks later, she informed us via email that our loan had been sold. It was sold to a lender in the east coast. We may not be comfortable dealing with this new lender. Besides not being local, we have no chance seeing the loan officer or his/her supervisor eye to eye.
Whether you feel comfortable having your loan sold or not, this is a excellent choice for a lender. Remember, you will bring the original terms if your loan is assigned. (If I remember my legal terms correctly, a sale is for selling something tangible and an assignment is for selling something intangible.) They have a great program and is a great loan officer.
