I had a great experience with Chicago Title until 3 days after closing when at 4:20 on a Friday afternoon I got an email from my escrow officer, Jon Austin, ”reminding me” to pay ASAP a repair bill that was supposed to be paid out of the escrow account. He told the service company that I had agreed to pay them directly, which was a lie. This was the first I was hearing about the invoice not being paid through escrow. The situation was handled extremely poorly and unprofessionally by Mr. Austin and I, as well as the service company, am filing a formal complaint.
