Our home buying experience through Redfin has been so smooth, from our agent, mortgage company, title company, and inspection. However, through the seller's choice, we went through Barringer Escrow. They were unresponsive and non-communicative, even with the simplest questions through both email and phone. They attempted to send a notary to our home with no prior communication or coordination. He called us in the morning pushing to meet that same day to sign Final Escrow papers that we had yet to review with Barringer. Prior to this demand to sign papers, we had already contacted Barringer multiple times to review detailed Escrow papers that we, as new home buyers, did not fully understand. A pushy irritable notary was being sent to our home to sign final documents LONG before the deal was complete (contingencies were not removed and fixes from the inspection were not taken care of). We had to find our own outside source to review Final Escrow Documents with since we received no response and were getting no support from Barringer. Thankfully Redfin was supportive and helpful. In the end, nothing was going to stop us from the happiness of buying our 1st home.
