We had few interactions with Cottonwood Title overall, though they were split fairly evenly to being positive and negative experiences. First, the positive. We had scheduled a meeting with them to sign closing papers, but then our mortgage lender fell through on their side, pushing our move-in date back. We thought this affected our closing papers too, so we did not make it to our appointment. On the day of the appointment, our realtor who was supposed to meet us there called us and told us that we were still supposed to sign those papers. We had a very narrow schedule that day, but we felt that Cottonwood Title did a good job accommodating the lack of communication (which was not their fault) to ensure we did our part. We appreciated the meeting itself and left confident. However, we were not told the correct information about how much we needed to pay for closing costs (the mortgage lender's fault) and thus had to make another trip back to pay those closing costs. We then were instructed to go to the bank to either get a cashier's check and bring it back or simply wire the money from the bank. I chose to wire the money as instructed and as I was stepping into my car to leave, I get a call from Cottonwood Title that if I wanted the payment to go through that day, I needed to get a cashier's check and come back to their building. When I told them I had already wired the funds, they asked if I could get that wiring back, which of course is highly improbable and difficult to do, but tried anyway with no success. I called them back and told them this, in which after a few more phone calls, they called me back saying that the payment did go through that day. I understand that there are issues on all sides, but it was frustrating to be given options and have them taken back later that day.
