Neil is extremely thorough and careful, which is exactly what you want in an inspector. He has extensive knowledge of past and present building code and will accurately point out not only things that were never allowed, but also things that were once considered safe but should be fixed or replaced. If you are able to follow him around a bit on the inspection, he gives a lot of great information additional to the report, including everything from the names of products for repairing different issues to things that have been repaired or replaced in a way that implies something else may have failed. If I buy a car, I know what mechanic I'm calling. If I buy a boat, I know the marine surveyor I'm calling. If I buy a house, I'm calling Neil.
