I was referred to James when I wanted to put an offer on a house around October 2017. He was very easy to talk to and always listened very carefully to what I had to say. He never laughed at any of my concerns because I did not grow up in the US and simply did not know certain customs or regulations. He gave me advice on timelines so that I would not 'hurt' my credit scores. When our offer was accepted, James helped us score the best deal from the bank, advising us on our balance, points, potential deductions, PMI, and tax implications. When it came to closing time, James negotiated the best rate possible at Wells Fargo and gave us lots of tips ahead of time to help our credit score. We felt like we were getting first class treatment with James due to his availability and insider tips. We even called another broker we met to try and get a lower rate (because even though we loved James, a lower rate is a lower rate!). Turns out, even with some shopping around, the rate James was offering us through Wells Fargo was unbeatable. Cannot recommend James highly enough.

Excellent is not a word even close enough to describe James customer service. James will be with you through all the process any day and at any time (We've been at the phone with him while he was on vacations with around 12 hours difference!) Very knowledgeable of his work and has key recommendations to make your business with Wells Fargo a pleasant experience and a positive one. We couldn't be happier having worked with him.

James brought a number of strengths to his work as a mortgage professional: * extremely responsive to me -- available via text/email at what seemed like all hours * took the time to explain everything in detail, to ensure I knew what I was signing up for * helped me figure out how to secure the best rate possible for my financial situation * provided informal advice on all aspects of the home buying process, even beyond just the mortgage * went the extra mile to help fund mobile notary services when some delays in the appraisal process required me to do things in a different place than I was originally expecting There were two reasons why I didn't give him a 10/10: * our appraisal report was multiple days overdue, relative to what James at indicated I should expect -- to his credit, James was very proactive in addressing the situation with the lender's appraisal team, but it created additional stress for me that I really didn't need * I received feedback from my agent that James was much less responsive to her than he was to me -- I think James needs to ensure that he's working proactively with the buyer's entire team, so that the buyer doesn't feel like everything needs to flow through him/her Overall, I had a great experience with James and would happily recommend him to others.
