While working with redfin, they suggested to bank with guaranteed rate. Being a Chase customer, we naturally turned down the offer and went to chase. But we compared interest rates and guaranteed rate had a better rate for us. We were about to close with the first house we put an offer in but we had to take our offer back due to a failed inspection. That's when the interest rate for guaranteed rate slowly started going up. So again, we saw Chase had a lower interest rate and applied for their loan. We told guaranteed rate that chase had a lower interest rate and they said they would match chase. So we decided to go back with guaranteed rate. What surprised me most was that they were able to lower our interest rate lower than chase. That was amazing.
