I would highly recommend Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. The loan officer worked with me throughout the process to educate me and suggest what is best for my situation. They were were responsive to all my queries even when I was traveling and was in a different time zone. They have competitive rates and exceptional service.

Deanna is an amazing mortgage broker, and puts together very competitive rates/offerings. She'll work with you to ensure a smooth process, and also understands if you're rate shopping. She will be very transparent about what they can and cannot match, and what offers may exist to help lower your rate. During the transaction, she has a team behind her that communicates very well about outstanding items; my only suggestion to them is to be increase communication during the underwriting process, as it tends to go "quiet" even though things are moving along fine. Overall, would highly recommend Deanna and would definitely use her again in a future mortgage.

The most important characteristics in a lender: the ability to close on time, and with the best possible interest rate on the loan. Deanna satisfied both handily, coming in with an interest rate on a 30-year fixed well below what the lender on my first home purchase could supply. (In fact, once he heard that I was shopping rates with Wells Fargo, he immediately told me that -- honestly -- he would not be able to compete with them.) Outside of the rate itself, there were, however, complications. Wells Fargo may not be alone struggling with the new federal regulations here, but there was a fair amount about confusion over what documents were needed and when. I was often told to ignore this request or that from their automated system, or asked for a document I had already supplied. Occasionally, emailed questions went unanswered for several days until I could get Deanna on the phone. (This was, however, around the Thanksgiving holiday.) The most frustrating hiccup was when I (and apparently many others) were inappropriately informed of a flood insurance requirement due to a "glitch" in the processing system. It would be inaccurate, therefore, to say this was a completely smooth, stress-free transaction ... but Deanna and her team did come through with a fantastic rate on a sizable loan. For that alone, I would certainly recommend her to friends and family, despite the bumps along the way.

I must emphasize this strongly... DEANNA BRAND IS WORTH HER WEIGHT IN GOLD!!!!!!! There is absolutely NO WAY our deal would have worked without her invaluable advise, tireless efforts and even the guidance she provided to both the buying and listing agents for our transaction. This was a very stressful situation due to tight turnarounds and competing offers - but Deanna recommended excellent strategies that made everything work out. She also pushed through all the paperwork in record time and made sure nothing slipped through the cracks. This is the fourth home we have purchased, and I have never had such a FANTASTIC lending experience. Usually lenders just call you at the last minute to tell you about some glitch or missing piece of information. Deanna was absolutely the opposite -- personable and friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was on target. If I could have, I would have given the entire commission to her! Just absolutely the best lender I have ever encountered.

She is very nice, prompt in returning calls and messages, and great at giving detailed responses. I would give her a higher rating except that they made a mistake on our closing documents, overcharging us by $900 and making us have to re-sign everything later in the day. I am not sure if that is Deanna's fault or Wells Fargo's, though.

Unfortunately we did end up having an issue right at the last minute, and I suspect it was really caused by one of her assistants while she was out of town - but she worked through it all and we were able to close a few days behind schedule.

Deanna knows the ins and outs and multiple combinations to make a loan work in complicated situations. Wells Fargo underwriting can be particularly risk-averse, but Deanna's experience helped us navigate that and get the loan we wanted. She also "greased the wheels" to ensure we could close in a shorter time period.
