After a truly awful experience in the past, it was immensely refreshing to work with Caliber. The entire team there, led by Brian Thielicke, was on point with all details, kept us informed and made the process easy, even when things went wrong or were unexpected. It was a night and day experience and after knowing how awful it can be, we are even more grateful for the wonderful service we received every step of the way from Caliber.

Brian and Mary at Caliber have been wonderful to work with. I've gotten multiple home loans with them as well as refinanced my home loans with them. They are always highly informative, friendly, patient and helpful. I will definitely be using them in the future for my home loan needs.
My in-laws generously offered to give us a bridge loan for our down payment so that we wouldn't need to liquidate stocks only to buy them right back again after selling our current home. For the underwriter to accept such an arrangement, we would have needed to go through a bunch of red tape to encumber our brokerage account to sufficiently prove that the loan was "secured."
Brian's team did not give us enough up-front information about exactly what their requirements were in this area. By the time we knew what we had to do it was getting too close to our closing date to trust the brokerage account changes to go through in time, so we sold stocks instead.
A little more communication early on would have allowed us to make the bridge loan work.
In the end we did get the house and the mortgage, and someone just doing a more typical down payment with no family members involved would probably be served quite well by Brian's team.
I appreciate the feedback shared by this customer. We regret that there was insufficient time to set up the down payment loan as they desired. We definitely make a point to provide detailed information about the process for all our clients and work diligently to provide them with all viable financing options in a timely manner. Moving forward, we will do a better job confirming these options.

Brian and his team seemed to be a credible and hard working team. We were unable to finalize a loan due to my withdrawal from the deal. Off hand I have no complaints given that we did not get very far with the whole home buying process.
Now that Redfin will no longer show me homes in my price range I am not sure why I am offering this review, and helping them. However I guess I owe it to Brian so that he and his team may benefit.
Brian and his team was there from Day 1 (pre-approval stage a few months ago) up until the time we seal the deal. His team has been been so helpful in all my inquiries given that I am first time home buyer and I appreciate the efforts they provided as that exceeds my expectations
The entire Caliber staff was super patient and helpful. They answered all of my questions promptly and made the overwhelming process of buying a home, feel manageable!
Very helpful and patient with first time house buyers. Detail oriented and 24/7 available. I recommend him with full confidence.

Brian and his team were very thorough and efficient, moving our loan process along quickly and seamlessly. They kept us informed each step of the way and answered all of my many questions quickly. They were very assessable throughout the whole process.
Choosing Brian and his team as our lenders was probably the second best decision after choosing Loren Ellingson as our Real Estate agent. They could not have done a better job at calming our nerves and answering our questions in a prompt and efficient manner. Our loan closed on time in 21 days! We cannot thank this team enough for everything they did for us. I would recommend them without hesitation for anyone wishing to buy a home :)
If Brian is on your side, you could be sure you will get the best deal

Brian was a pure professional! He put us at ease during some really stressful moments, gave us confidence and was always accessible. The mission statement on his email footer says it all, "Fiercely advocating on our clients behalf to make their dreams and goals come true; and having fun doing so!"
I would also like to mention that Joni LaClair was also great to work with.
Brian and his team are very responsive and that was reason I decided to go with them. His team is very prompt regarding questions and paper work and I felt that they would do all possible to get everything done to close the deal however I had couple of issues:
1. As a first time buys there were certain things not clear; which I wish Brian would have made clear upfront to avoid heartburns later - you can not get redfin refund back and you have to use it or loose it. This would be fine if it was cleared up upfront instead this coming last minute to buy points seemed like I have no choice but believe whatever you say.
2. My mortgage later go transferred so chase - but after offer closing, I didn't have any communication form cobalt except letters via postal mail which I thought was really odd.
Besides clarify on details and communication, I didn't have other issues and I will give them credit for closing things on time.

Brian and his team were very organized and communicative. We knew exactly what was happening with our loan application. They also answered questions quickly and were organized with their requests for documentation.
They also were able to work with us on an earlier close date which we appreciated!
Brian did a great job of explaining every step of the process and did what we could to ensure the best rate and a smooth closing process. Highly recommend working with Brian.
Brian's team (including Joni and Mary) were fantastic to work with. Prepared ahead of time, on top of getting documents from us, they were great. Brian met with us ahead of time to go over our options, and really made it seem like Cobalt cared.
Brian and his team were fast at getting us pre-approved (even though we started the process a week before with a big bank lender). We were happy with the rates and communication was frequent and just right. When we ran into problem closing the deal due to HOA issues, Brian and his team went all out to get the deal closed. We are very happy we stuck with Cobalt.
Brian is backed by a great team. Great rate. Great communication. Brian personally called the selling agent to put in a good word for our qualifications as buyers. It is my opinion that Cobalt's reputation to close quickly gave us a competitive advantage despite our offer not being highest.
Brian and his team, Joni and Mary, were exceptional. Their detail-oriented timeline kept us on track for a prompt closing. Brian also went out of his way to meet us downtown in person to discuss the process and address any concerns we had. He, Joni and Mary are all top-notch. There's a reason that Cobalt Mortgage comes so highly recommended from both the realtors and builders -- they're dependable and can close on a quicker timeline than their competitors.
Brian and his team were very efficient and helpful. Thanks!

"We don't close ugly" - how true! Brian and his team were AMAZING, explaining everything every step of the way. As first time home buyers - we could not have asked for a better team to help us with the myriad of paperwork. THANKS COBALT!
