Evan Goetzmann

I was originally going to go through my current bank for my VA loan, upon my agents recommendation for going local, however, and mentioning Homestreet Bank in passing I gave Evan Goetzmann a call. One of the very first things he said to me was that he and Homestreet Bank would “earn my business” even after I had told him I was comfortable moving forward with him as my loan officer. Throughout my closing he did so in spades. My financing felt effortless even though I know it was anything but. I was genuinely surprised when I got the call that everything had been finalized, thinking that it had been so much easier than anticipated. My experience with Homestreet Bank, and with Evan was nothing but positive and I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone looking to finance their home.

Evan would boast as to why his services cost a little more but showed no actual reasons. His estimates on all costs changed throughout the process even though he had the exact information he needed. After he factored in my Redfin refund my final cost to close rose by over $2,800, which incidentally was around the amount of my refund. When questioned as to why it was raising he simply ignored me. Lenders weren't switched because we were past that deadline date and I didn't want to jeopardize the sale. Credit score is over 800 and I only choose this lender because supposedly local lenders are better, not the case here. They oversold themselves and under performed... 3.5% rate (almost $3,000 to buy down even though other banks were at that without buying down) and about $13,000 in closing costs on a VA loan.

I am very happy with Evan and the service he provides. I have worked with him on the purchase of 2 homes as well as a refinance, and he worked hard to get us the best possible rate. He always answers my questions and takes the time to talk me through the very complicated financial policies and regulations until I feel completely comfortable. I highly recommend him!
