Kevin is nice and was available even on weekends. Pacific Finance has good rates and low fees. However, I felt like it was very stressful working with them as a whole. In the beginning he said to let him know if we wanted to be fully underwritten to strengthen our offer in this competitive market. There was a house we really wanted and we thought "Why not?". But then I was told that our mortgage application had actually been submitted for the house. This wouldn't have been a problem except the sellers did not accept our offer. I appreciated that Kevin was honest enough to tell me and he said that the application wouldn't be processed but even after multiple requests I never received a written confirmation that this was cancelled. There were typos on some forms and we were told to sign and that it would be fixed later since they were just preliminary forms (they were eventually fixed but typically I don't sign unless I agree with what I'm signing). We weren't informed of when the appraisal was scheduled or performed and when we finally followed up one week prior to closing, the appraiser still hadn't sent in their report even after making multiple promise dates. I basically played messenger between Pacific Finance and CW escrow the day before closing to make sure we would close on time. Overall I think this process would have been better if they had communicated the stages better, paid more attention to detail, were more knowledgable about what could and could not be done through the lender and were more timely with the appraisal.
