I would say the only thing that could be improved would be proactively explaining their process upfront: it was confusing knowing who we were working with throughout the process. One minute we'd be working with Matt, another Ashley, and other James. If they would have explained that there were going to be these hand-offs to various Caliber people in advance it would have been a more seamless experience. We were really impressed with Caliber's automated intact process and their tool for analyzing different product scenarios. Both made the pre-approval process and scenario planning effortless. We got an awesome interest rate with Caliber. Matt's team is professional, and always ready to answer questions. Sometimes it was a little bit confusing that there were a lot of different people contacting us, but other than that things went smoothly.

Loan processing time was one of the fastest I ever saw - from reaching out to Matt to completion of underwriting it took just 8 business days. One area where Caliber can fine tune is in the communication of loan cost breakdown. Maybe it is the same for all mortgages, but it took me a while to fully understand the breakdown. Even with this I will recommend Caliber to my friends and family.

Caliber home loans was an amazing experience overall. They were able to provide the lower fees, and were able to beat out other lenders. They offer different payment methods as well such as biweekly and monthly at no additional cost. I would give Caliber Home loan a 10/10 but when they sent my acceptance letter to my wife and I they also sent it to a random person that we did not know. They did fully disclose they emailed our acceptance letter to the wrong person once that person emailed me letting me know they received my wife and I's acceptance letter. Once the county released what the taxes would be on the home, our mortgage insurance was more than double because it was higher than expected, but Caliber Home assisted us to get our mortgage insurance back to the original price to help lower the monthly payment.

In fact, from the first email to Matt and team to the closing of our house was around 30 days! The speed and level of professionalism displayed by everyone on the team is leaps beyond anyone else. We’ve worked with other lenders in the past on both purchases and refinances.
