My contact with Kurt was limited to the initial loan application over the phone (which went smoothly), so most of this review is for AIM Loan in general. AIM has excellent loan rates for well-qualified buyers. However, the paperwork required bordered on the ridiculous, with multiple rounds of underwriter review generating new and often unpredictable requests. Subsequent delays on the behalf of underwriting (which became "backed up" with no ETA provided) meant we missed multiple contractual deadlines and the deal was on the verge of collapse. No one at AIM seemed to care that was the case, despite knowing about all deadlines well in advance. Harrowing! After all of our paperwork was finally approved, we were then presented with a request for six months of cash reserves, which had never been mentioned before... And my retirement funds (which were more than enough) could not be counted. Maddening. If you have plenty of cash on hand, are happy to converse only by email - meaning answers to your questions may not come same day or may be overlooked altogether, and are prepared to provide every possible financial document, AIM is a good choice.
