Before deciding on using the lender who had provided me with the pre-approval letter, who I really liked and gave me a great interest rate, I decided to ask for several estimates. I wanted a 30 year conventional loan with 20% down. Mark initially could not match the rate, but called me back with a new home buyer product that he thought I might qualify for. The rate was 0.125% lower than the rate I had negotiated with the other lender, had a standard 60 day lock in, and had 0 points. I decided to go with Mark based on the rate.
Mark was very responsive when I emailed him, but not proactive, and required constant follow up. Sometimes he would not answer my question fully via email. If you choose Mark as your lender, phone calls work best for communication. I would highly recommend TD's first home buyer loan product if you are a first home buyer.
