Bob Sisson

Bob Sisson was extremely pleasant to work with. We actually worked with him twice, as a major deal-breaker (in-use, buried oil tank) was found on inspection of the first house we put an offer on. Bob identified the oil tank within 10 minutes of his arrival and paused the inspection so that we could make a decision to walk away or continue the inspection. We chose to walk away and he did not charge us for inspection that day. While we were frustrated about the buried oil tank, we were thankful for Bob's customer service and protecting us. We used Bob for the inspection of our now house. Bob is actively involved with his professional organization AAHI and it was evident he stays current with best practices in home inspection. We appreciated the information and advice he shared with us throughout the inspection.

Bob's inspection was very thorough, we felt like he explained everything in a really understandable and reasonable way. The only complaint we had is that he does the report hard copy in a binder, and it would be nice to have it as an electronic copy.

I found this company on Angie's List, and they were very highly rated, so I was highly disappointed when the inspection was really sub-par. I had two different contractors point things out to me saying, "A good inspector would have put this in the report so that you could have gotten a credit." We had our home inspected by "Mrs. Bob" rather than Bob himself, and we were assured that they were both of equal quality. The feminist in me wants to believe that, but if that's true, then they must both not be all that great. Mrs. Bob would not go up on the roof, which was our first red flag. She assured us the roof was in very good shape with no deficiencies in spite of its age, but I am not sure how she can be certain of that without having actually gone up there. We also were not offered an electronic copy of the report, and the paper copy was very unspecific. I would not recommend them to a friend, because I would be concerned that my friend would be stuck with unexpected expenses like we were.

When it was time to get a home inspection, we were really particular about going with someone we could trust. Everyone has heard horror stories about major problems that were missed during the inspection that end up costing the homeowner tens of thousands of dollar to fix after closing. Bob came highly recommended and after speaking with him on the phone, it was very obvious he knew what he was doing. He was extremely thorough in his inspection and made sure to teach us little tips and tricks along the way for keeping our home safe and sound for the future. He provided us with pictures of the issues he found during the inspection as well as great reading material that will keep things up-to-code in the house and make sure everything stays in working order. Bob is there for the homeowner before and after closing with any questions or follow-ups. We would definitely recommend Bob to anyone looking for a home inspection.

Bob was recommended to us by our daughter, who had him inspect the home she eventually bought 4 years ago. Bob was very thorough, straight forward, and answered all questions that I had throughout the inspection. He gave us recommendations when asked and provided a comprehensive, well organized report immediately following the inspection. Because my spouse wasn't present during the inspection, Bob answered all his questions and explained deficiencies he found in the home via phone later that night. We'll definitely use Bob for our home inspection needs next time we are in the market for a home.

He provides a superior comprehensive binder of his inspection and notes, and his onsite use of a digital camera and portable photo printer help augment the complete report you receive on the day of your inspection.
