The Home Inspector was very nice and helpful.

Mr. Dave Basham from Lodestar conducted our inspection, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. Although the home was large and older, Mr. Basham made sure to check every nook and cranny. He was more than happy to discuss any questions we had. I can't recommend this company enough!

Good but not great. Less informative than past home inspections. Asked multiple times to have someone explain the water report to us and never got an answer. Super responsive and quick to schedule. Reports were available quickly and easy to access.

Jennifer Shipe returned my calls promptly and made it easy to set up our inspection. Kate Johnson did the inspection. She was thorough and was quick to respond to my questions after the inspection was completed.

LodeStar Inspections is a reputable company that really lives up to the reputation. Very fast service and an amazingly thorough inspection really gave us peace of mind on our purchase.

The inspection was able to be scheduled very quickly, and the inspector who came out was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and thorough, and he walked us through everything that would be going in the report.

John Kraft was great. He inspected my two bedroom condo and also gave me tips on how to maintain my first home. He is a firefighter, and I appreciated the info he shared about my wood burning fireplace. LodeStar is reasonably priced and provides a very thorough report shortly after. I have already recommended LodeStar to another friend who just closed on a townhome, and they had a great experience as well. I also like that they are a woman-led company. Really cool!

I like how detailed the report was from the inspection but the inspector did not check my smoke detectors and it turns out they were 2yrs expired. My electrician came to do a checkup on the house based on LodeStar inspection stating outlets need replacing and as part of their list of thing identified the smoke detectors.

Missed “mold” in my new house!

It was a breeze scheduling an inspection with LodeStar on a very tight closing deadline and our inspector was very knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful!

They were able to FaceTime me while at the house to actually show me some of the issues that needed attention. They were very attentive to details. You could tell they loved their job and enjoyed what they were doing.

We enjoyed working with Rachel, and her team! They provided a very comprehensive inspection and, despite the changes due to COVID 19, Rachel made every effort to make us feel as though we were there, including video chatting, sending messages, and the report was well documented with photographs. Rachel has a great sense of humor, and laughing with her made things even smoother and better!

Rachel was fantastic as an inspector! I really appreciated all of her insight and guidance, and would happily utilize LodeStar's services again.

Rachel and Bill were awesome. Actually had fun during what would be a boring process, and made it fun and educational. Rachel did only give me one LodeStar pen though ;)

Avoid this company, use someone else. Read the service descriptions to know the difference between what's advertised and the service actually provided. Services provided are buried in the website descriptions and advertised otherwise. If the invoice hadn't accurately described the services provided we would have sued. Home inspection seemed thorough, but finding far too many things in plain sight the inspector should have noted after closing that should have been reported during the home inspection. Well yield and water tests were advertised as "well inspection", we had to pay for a separate independent well inspection afterward. Lodestar's service gave us little usable info other than "This is a well". "Well yield" is running a hose in a bucket for 1min and charging nearly $300; inspector only had a single bucket so the yield was 5gal (do the math). 2nd well yield test (part of a $59 well inspection w/ Atlantic Blue) was far more than 5gal as the 2nd inspector brought more than 1 bucket and actually ran the water for a full 60 seconds. Independent inspection also showed the softening system was inoperative; had we tried to use it after Lodestar's inspection not knowing the softener was inop we were told we'd have all gotten sick. Water test results were the only usable info. "Mold test" is nothing more than a lab report w/ no explanation of environmentals or what to be concerned about, no reporting of visuals (pointed out to us by the home inspector and not reported during either the home or the mold inspections). Had to locate an independent expert to translate the lab results to know nothing was out of the ordinary. Took nearly 2 wks of emails w/ manager to clarify issues, she evaded every question I asked; was never able to actually get her on the phone. Cannot and will not recommend this company.

Wow this company is truly amazing! They spent about five hours in the home testing and checking everything! They took the time to explain everything in the house. They were very thorough and helpful and gave us the peace of mind that we were making the right and informed decision. Anyone who needs a home inspection look no further. They are the best!
