They are well-versed in TIC loans, and offered us a great rate. And we closed on the house on the day they said we would. However, while I know escrow is never supposed to be a cake-walk, Sterling made the process feel like a never-ending nightmare. Every single day for 3 weeks we received a request for yet another document -- why couldn't they have bundled all their requests in one big email at the beginning? We were asked to submit some documents 3-4 times. Just when we thought it was over, there was always another request. They waited until the very end of the process (mere days before we were supposed to close) before they started calling references, meaning we had to chase down former employers and former landlords to ensure they were available to take a phone call from an unknown number on a Friday afternoon. Time and time again, they came off as disorganized, unprofessional, and made us feel like we'd made the wrong choice to go with them. I would go with them if they give you the best rate, but just be prepared to be on call for 'urgent requests' every day for the entirety of escrow.
