While we were able to secure a loan, is was not without a number of miscues and headaches which were a result of the Loan Depot team. Our loan consultant created a number of issues and a very poor customer experience. Examples of loan depot’s poor customer service include: -emailing us 12 min prior to a “deadline” requesting information that we had already provided, creating an extreme amount of panic for us as buyers -not sharing specifics on how gift funds should be handled AND speaking negatively of us as a client to another coworker (all documented via email) -not reviewing documentation we shared -providing incorrect pre-approval letters with $ amounts that were WAY off And a number of other hiccups along the way. Lack of attention to detail combined with poor customer service is simply an awful experience. Saying “I’m sorry and people make mistakes” doesn’t suffice as an adequate response. It got to a point where we were so fed up that we had to have our real estate agent act as our contact/messenger. Ultimately, we secured our loan but had we not been so far into the process of closing escrow, we would have seeked another lender earlier. We did not want to risk delaying our process further.
