We are disappointed that this client felt our legal assistance in this transaction was inadequate, however, their representation of the issue is, unfortunately, incorrect. When the contract was signed, it provided that “Security System(s) (unless rented)” would be included in the property to be conveyed to buyer at closing. Unfortunately, this client failed to notify us until 2 days before closing (33 days after contract signing) that the system was rented and could not be conveyed to the buyer. Thus, because we weren't informed about the rental earlier, we were unable to negotiate removal of the system or transfer of the rental contract to the buyers. Our office did all that we could to reach a resolution, however, the buyer declined to materially change the contract terms and accept a rented security system. Again, we made every effort at resolution once made aware of the issue, despite the hurdles faced
