I didn't get to choose Old Republic National Title Insurance Company and from my vantage point it's hard to see what value they provided besides a central location, a printer, and a conference room. Nobody from the title company was in the room with us at signing, walked us through anything, or even really interacted with us. Our lawyer is the one who walked us through everything in the agreement and who sat with us as we signed everything. When we walked in we were offered water by someone at the title insurance company and then told to walk down the hall and get it ourselves. It was honestly pretty funny, but it definitely didn't feel like Old Republic was really there to serve us as their clients. I know a title company does more stuff than print documents and send signed documents to wherever they need to go, but I can't really comment on Old Republic National Title Insurance Company's work in those areas since it hasn't really been relevant to us – and hopefully never will.
