Not likely, the first communication I had with this company was an email asking me for my current mortgage lender and contact so they could get the payoff amount..I responded I didn’t understand what they needed, and stated, I don’t think this was intended for me and they came back apologizing the email was sent to me by mistake. The other issue was communication, it was a he said, she said situation. I was out of state and the closing was to be done virtually or by mail away. This office said they didn’t know I was out of state but my realtor stated he told them. So there ended up being a delay in the closing, also they wanted to email me over 100 pages to print out, sign and have notarized. I purchased a home with my daughter a few years back and her mortgage and title company was awesome (yes this was also a Maine purchase) they arranged for a travel notary to come to our house and reviewed the paperwork, then we signed, it was flawless. I inquired about this and was told “well we don’t do that”. I asked about switching to another title company that did do this and was told by my realtor “it’s too late to change”. The closing itself was a nightmare, wrong info on paperwork, that I was told “it’s no big deal, it won’t affect anything” after a few of these incidences, I stopped and refused to sign further but was told “we are out of contract as of today. I can see if the sellers will extend but it’s unlikely” when I offered to walk away, I was told I would likely loss my large earnest money deposit. It was a horrible experience, felt pressured because I was being told, “I have another closing” right after this, mine was at 1, supposed next closing was at 2. I was very upset, felt no support and backed into a corner in regards to following through with the closing.
