Unfortunately, I felt like Avalon Settlements could have done a better job in terms of communication with me the client. Areas that needed attention are transparency in the rationale behind their fees, and customer service. I won't mention names, but when I would call, one agent in particular was very very quick and rushed with responses. Even while going over the documents at settlement this agent talked quite fast. And it didn't feel like an excited "I'm happy for you" kind of fast, it felt more like a "I need to hurry this up and move to my next client" type of fast. And buying a home is a BIG thing! Some people only do it once in life. The last thing you need during such a big purchase is someone talking in a way that makes you feel as if you are just one of many on their assembly line. The others at Avalon were kind and patient, and I appreciated that. I simply felt like more efforts could have been made to help me feel comfortable with this process.
