In the end the purchase went smoothly enough, but I had some initial difficulty with my due diligence to verify the wiring instructions that they emailed me. This company operates under two different names, a master company named Midwest Title Corporation (who handled the title insurance), and then a subsidiary named Midwest Title Madison, LLC (who handled the escrow). Each company has a different person listed as the President, and the President of the subsidiary has two different family names on various records (one for the company registration and a different one for her title insurance agent license). My final issue was that when I showed up at their office for the closing I was initially confused because they have no sign in front of their bldg. They only have a sign at their suite door inside the building, meaning from the parking lot you only see the name Oak Bank. In the end after a lot of online digging I was satisfied that they were a legitimate organization, but it wasn't straightforward.
