I recommend Don Bissex from Mystic Home Inspection without hesitation. Don was extremely responsive during our first contact and flexible with scheduling the inspection. As a first-time home buyer, I was grateful that Don was extremely detailed and thorough during the inspection. I also welcomed his didactic approach to the inspection process. On the day of the inspection, he showed up early and we walked through the entire property together. As he was doing the inspection, he educated me and explained many aspects of my future home (heating, cooling, insulation, electrical, etc). Most importantly, Don identified several critical issues that helped me to make an informed decision regarding during my home buying process. Critically, Don found that the water heater was leaking and recommended that it be replaced, which the seller ultimately agreed to do. Needless to say, Don saved me from a huge headache there. Finally, his final written inspection report was timely, clear and well-written. I look forward to working with Don again.

We met with Ron (Don's partner). who was very friendly and walked us through a lot of things we never thought of looking at. I reduced his rating a bit because he missed a broken window in the inspection, which we found afterwards.

Their service was good but expensive as compared to others. We could have found another home inspector with better offer price if we had time to shop around.

He is the uncle-next-door we never had. He is approachable, there are no dumb questions, and he clearly enjoys what he does. Walking through our unit with him explaining every relevant detail made us feel so much more comfortable with our purchase. We learned a lot about our unit and about how to take care of it.

Donald Bissex was able to accommodate our needs on short notice,sent his reports in a timely manner, and went back a second time to inspect our unit at no additional cost. However, we had two properties inspected; I would have appreciated a discount since the cost for inspection is quite high.

Don does a great job! I found it very easy to work with him and he does not hold back his opinions. He provides a nice report with pictures, but I strongly suggest that you follow him around and write down thoughts from his running commentary. If you're still not frightened, maybe the house is for you!
