We arrived early for our 3PM appointment. Our closing agent saw us at 3:15, spent 10 minutes with us and left at 3:25 for her 3:30 appointment and left a coworker to do the wrap up. All of our questions were answered but we felt rushed and not important. After the closing was completed our proceeds checks were supposed to be overnighted but lost by their shipper. We reported the lost shipment. We called multiple times in the AM to get the checks cancelled but had to get help from the closer's supervisor and our agent to get things rolling. Cancel checks, reissue new ones, etc. I never got the return phone call from their closing agent. Just some emails saying the replacement checks would be ready. We went there personally to pick up the proceeds. Went to deposit their check and my bank would not accept because Masterpiece has a security feature that has to be approved. Nobody told me the check would not be good for another day when we were given the check. Then when we called them they said, "We didn't know you were going straight to the bank". What else would I do with a check? Five days after closing! Masterpiece should allow more time between their closings and be more responsive for their clients. Not impressed!
