Cornerstone Title Company

Cornerstone was a pleasure to work with.

At first this place seemed well enough, however by the end of the process we where quite disappointed by the whole experience. I think they failed two critical aspects of their job, first was knowing their customer and second was document control. First, this was our first home purchase, never had we endured the process of signing all the documents with the title company, we did it twice because there were two loans. By the end of it our brains were noodles, understandably so, unfortunately at the very beginning they mentioned a special letter we'd need to have signed by a family member that was gifting us some dollars. The same letter we have already presented, only their version. The next day they call and say we are all funded and set to record, then a few hours later call and ask why we didn't turn in this document, and that they wont record our purchase until we get them the documents. The family lives far so of course emailing a docusign was the way to go. We had to beg for a docusign after them only wanting to put in the effort to send a PDF. After several, and i mean several rounds of attempting to get them to send it to the right emails, we got it done. This would have been a 7.5 out of 10 if you would have had the docusign for the important (repeat) document prepared at time of signing. You are a professional organization middling million dollar deals, open your eyes to who your clients might be and put in a little effort ahead of time if you have a last minute item to sign. Why send a PDF in 2019 when we can docusign? People don't print/scan/fax anymore.

Cornerstone was fantastic. Very helpful, answered all my questions.

We went to Cornerstone Title in the De Anza Boulevard, Cupertino. They have very friendly staff. The lady who was looking after our case helped us in understanding all the documents that we were signing and guided us all along. The signing was quick and she made it stress free by explaining the meaning of each document . It was a great experience working with Cornerstone Title company .

Very good, especially in squeezing us in at short notice, and the notary explained everything carefully, especially what was routine and what needed attention.

I worked most closely with Alma pre-closing. She provided adequate and timely information for the closing and the initial deposit. She clarified the processes involved. At closing the person I worked with was careful to spend the time discussing the nuances (closing vs. recording, taxes, and allocations) and everything worked out well.

No problems working with Cornerstone. Everything worked out promptly.

Did everything superfast! Even accommodated the signing at home in the evening without extra charge. I'm a first time buyer so I don't have a comparison, but I'm very happy with how they handled my case..

We sid not have a good experiemce and got an pression that the escrow company did not have a handle on the closing process. There was a disconnect between the lender and Escrow company reaulting in us ending up closing 5 days earlier than we planned.

There was not that much interaction with the title company. My escrow officer never even showed her face to us. When we went in for signing, we were put in a room, and a random lady showed up and started talking to us, and we had no idea who she is or whether we can trust her. Turns out she was an outside notary lady. Other than that the process was fine.

People at the Cornerstone Title company were helpful and got things done quickly. However, they were very busy and it was hard to get appointments on time. Also someone (bank or title company) screwed up in which papers to get signed and we had to go back and sign them again the next day delaying closing by a few days. The Cornerstone people were helpful in getting it resolved but not in getting the whole thing expedited. So positive on the people and service but deducting a couple of stars as our overall experience was good but not great.
