We got our lender's approval Tuesday late morning, got the documents to Fidelity early afternoon, and by 4 p.m. on Tuesday we were in their offices, signing! Paperwork was all organized and ready to go, and their notary was really great about walking us through the documentation, and not rushing us when we wanted to read through the stacks of paper! They also got us the cheque for the excess cash to close within a week.

The entire process was very smooth for us. Fidelity was very responsive (thanks Sema!) and easy to work with. Also, they were able to arrange a notary to come to our apartment to sign our docs on a Sunday morning, so that was very convenient. I rated 8/10 because perhaps the fees could have been a bit lower? Maybe all title companies in SF charge the same, but it didn't seem like the fees *need* to be that high. All in all though, we were satisfied.

She took care of all the details and all complexities, even when I threw her a last minute curve ball and could not make it to our appointment for closing. Most first time buyers don't realize how important it is to have a first-class escrow officer on your team. I will definitely work with Fidelity on my next home purchase.
