They charged me for a survey which was dated prior to my contractual commitment to the purchase of the property. I purchased the property on cash basis and there was no mortgage property involved. I never requested or ordered a survey because my realtor (Redfin) told me that the seller had one on file and I did not need another one. My realtor urged me to sign and initial the charges on the closing statement. If there is an error or an overcharge that Republic Title will issue a refund. I brought up the survey issue and I have not received the $395 refund. The survey was dated September 23th and the purchase contract was not drafted and signed until the subsequent month is one discrepancy. My realtor told me that she will try to get me a refund and I never got it.
