First American Title didn't communicate with us very much through this whole process (unless we were in their office or giving them money). This created a lot of communication problems for us, and confusion about the process. Our escrow officer was not helpful, didn't return my calls, and didn't actually communicate with me through their online portal either. I had a lot of questions, and because I didn't get them answered, there were misunderstandings on how much money we needed to transfer to close. This then delayed our closing date, and it created a lot of tension. The online portal was very unhelpful and clunky. there was no explanation of how it worked, or what we needed to do for various steps. It was a fairly unclear and, thereby, frustrating part of this process.
