This escrow company is a subsidiary of Keller-Williams, which is great if your realtor happens to be KW, but not so great if you are the buyer and the seller is using KW. Although they reassured us that they were unbiased, that was not the case. For example, they gave us a retrofit form to sign (indicating that the house had all required retrofits) with the initial packet when clearly NO retrofits had been done and that form is filled out at the end usually. They took 7 days to turn in the requisition for HOA documents (and blamed everyone else for it other than their own process). They worked closely with the KW realtor to find ways to delay the process, and the KW realtor (David Fogg, et al) gave us notice to perform literally 2 days before each contingency deadline (and told us they were doing this as a "courtesy"). That's VERY unusual, most humane realtors wait at least until the deadline. Ironically, they did not have any other offers- so it's unclear why they were working so hard to make the deal flop.
The escrow company never gave us updates without being explicitly asked for them. They also never sent us any documents without our wonderful Realtor going out of his way to ask for them (or us calling/e-mailing/driving down there). The one good part was that they did use e-mail readily, which is nice in this day & age.
