It got closed........and we're happy it's over!
Several problems: 1. Overnight delivery NEVER worked as promised. Once, the package arrived several days late and once, we had to drive to the delivery company and pick up the package after 5 days delay. This could have been a "deal killer", as we were well outside the time allotted to review and accept the documents. Last minute!.... 2. Customer service ranged from indifference to impolite.....3. This was a VERY SIMPLE transaction with NO LOAN, NO APPRAISAL.....4. It is now 5 days after closing and we have not yet received a closing statement or the balance of the withheld "contingency" money..??....5. We used Docu-Sign as an online convenience. Escrow reported that they, "Don't have access to all the documents on Docu-Sign." REALLY???? That's the whole purpose. We ended up signing some documents twice....6. We inherently have issues with the "independence" of escrow companies that are owned/operated by the sellers' real estate agency. There is no incentive to provide a high level of customer service or competitive fees.
