First Class Title, Inc. was established in 2005 by Dan Kotz, Esquire with the goal of providing First Class knowledge and First Class customer service. Mr. Kotz has hand selected his staff whose experience averages over 30 years experience each. First Class Title handles your typical refinances, home equity loans, REO sales, standard sales and represents a number of investors and servicing companies in their REO purchases and sales, along with commercial transactions.

The settlement attorney and her assistant were absolutely wonderful. They kept us informed as the process progressed and made settlement very quick and painless. Plus willingly agreed to our initial request to do the settlement in Fredericksburg VA, when their office was in Rockville MD. The only complicated settlement item was the selling bank could not understand why I wanted my wife's name on the deed/title and threatened to cancel the sale contract, unless we continued with the deed/title made out in my name only. The First Class Title attorney in charge of the settlement, fixed that problem by agreeing to do a deed/title amendment and only charged the County filing fee for the amendment.

They did get everything in order so that we went through closing and got keys when expected. However, they made some errors on our draft HUD prior to closing (which were resolved), then made similar errors estimating taxes at closing which caused us to have to come back to the office and essentially pay more money. They also needed me to sign more paperwork after closing (I guess it got lost in the shuffle). Overall, I'm happy that we closed on time and got keys, but thought they could have done better.
