$400 processing fee and $100 title purchase only a few days after purchase voided seems excessive. also delay in mailing remainder of deposit back. said they didn't have an address when they could called or email asking for it instead of holding on to it for over a week. very inefficient and slow moving.
Our experience with Stonebridge Title left some things to be desired. Jorge was a great guy and very responsive at the beginning, but became a ghost during the final week (the most important period). Many of my emails during the final week went unresponded to. A couple calls weren't returned. They overnighted our signing documents and included a pre-labeled Fedex envelope to return them - but they got their own address wrong causing a delay in delivery (and I don't exactly want sensitive personal documents sent to a wrong address). I get that perhaps I had a fair amount of questions - but it was as if they had no understanding of the fact that I don't sell a home every week. The entire process is not only new but also the stakes are more involved than selling a couch on Craigslist. I'm going to have some questions. You have to answer them. And even though our home equity wasn't material to our net worth, we're still transferring tens of thousands of dollars and I may have a few questions for you to make sure we're good-to-go. Questions about making sure the wire transaction were all set were largely ignored, as if we wire all the time and should know the drill. We had a much smoother experience on the buying side when we worked with Republic Title.
Everything went smoothly, and the closing took all of 30 minutes. No problems at all,Jorge was terrific. He was very helpful, friendly, and great at walking me through the paperwork and answering any questions I had. I would use Stonebridge Title again and do not hesitate to recommend them in the future to other buyers.
Very accommodating. My husband was going to be working out of town on the day we were supposed to close, and even though we had a power of attorney ready to go in case, Stonebridge offered for us to complete our part of the closing ahead of time when we were both going to be here. It was very much appreciated!
