This cabin is on U. S. Forest Service Special Use Permit land and as such cannot be financed, cannot be used as a primary residence, and essentially cannot be changed materially on the exterior without US Forest Service approval. Forest Service Information Center at BArton Flats. Close to the highway for safety and easy access, this 1 bedroom and loft bedroom cabin features a living room with a large river rock fireplace with an airtight wood burning stove (not an insert) so it will actually heat the cabin instead of simply looking good but not heating. The kitchen has a clean propane range/oven, refrigerator, nice enameled white kitchen cabinets and sink. The bathroom is relatively new since 2008 when new septic systems were required, one bedrsoom on the livinf floor and a loft bedroom up a regular flight of stairs (see photo's). The cabin is in good shape and met all Forest Service requirements in 2008 in order to get a new 20 year special use permit. The cabin is situated making the drive to Big Bear Lake easy for skiing in the Winter plus shopping and sight seeing year around. Jenks Lake is less than 2 miles away as is hundreds of miles of hiking and b iking trails. The Santa Ana River is 3 miles away with more hiking, fishing and sight seeing.
