Built in 1927 ‘The Jennie Vennerström Cannon’ house was designed by architect Lilian “Lillie” Belle Bridgman. Lilian studied under the guidance of her friend Bernard Maybeck as she pursued a second career as an architect, studying at UC Berkeley. Over generations La Vereda has been lovingly updated and expanded to accommodate the needs of modern living all the while retaining its inherent character; a Z-braced door with storybook latch, shingles, hand hewn redwood beams and mahogany floors. The first floor living rooms are built around the focal gas fireplace and a cathedral bay of windows with a partial view of San Francisco. Expanded in 1968 there are three bedrooms and two baths on the upper floor all with exterior access, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and an abundance of natural light. The primary suite has skylights and a second gas fireplace, it is spacious, bright and the hand hewn beams of the main living room are echoed. There is a lower level bonus room with the fourth full bath that has a private separate entrance.
