Historic Chapel Transformation: A Unique Living Space in Rural Connecticut The conversion of the historical Grace Chapel into a living space showcases a thoughtful blend of preservation and modernization. Initially built in 1901 the chapel served the local St Stephens church till 1947 when it was then used as a storage facility before being repurposed by the current homeowner into a friendly ADU. A core design principle throughout the project was the preservation of the chapel's integrity and charm. Efforts were made to retain and repair historic material wherever possible, even while acknowledging that some elements required replacement.
