Mixed Use Development District
The purpose and intent of the Mixed Use Development District (MXD) is to: Provide the method by which tracts of land may be developed as a unit rather than on a lot-by-lot basis as provided for in the town's other zoning regulations; Provide a maximum of design freedom by permitting the applicants an opportunity to more fully utilize the physical characteristics of the site through modified development regulations and the planned mixing of uses.; Require that property approved by the town council for a Mixed Use Development District (MXD) will be developed through a unified design providing continuity among the various elements causing a better environment.; Include traditional neighborhood development concepts, including the following attributes: Neighborhood component with the following characteristics: Limited in area to that which can be traversed in a ten-minute walk by a majority of its residents to its center.
