ONE OF VENICE’S MOST UNIQUE HOMES — A FULLY RENOVATEDCONCRETE DOME HOME WITH ARCHITECTURE YOU SIMPLY DON’T SEE EVERY DAY. Welcome to 2881 Gentian Rd, a completely renovated 3-bedroom, 1-bath home featuring 1,031 heated square feet across two levels and a design unlike anything else on the market. Built around a solid concrete dome shell, the home features no conventional trusses, rafters, or traditional roof system — creating the unmistakable curved architecture that makes this property truly one of a kind. Inside, the renovation gives the home a clean, modern feel while preserving the character that makes it special. The new kitchen features shaker cabinetry, quartz countertops, a full-height matching quartz backsplash, stainless steel appliances, and a French-door refrigerator. Large-format tile flooring runs throughout, complemented by new lighting, ceiling fans, doors, blinds, and a brand-new AC system. The renovated bathroom features a frameless glass shower, modern finishes, a backlit LED mirror, and an original glass-block window incorporated directly into the curved concrete shell. At the center of the home, a custom black iron spiral staircase leads to the open upper level beneath the dramatic curve of the dome. Cable railing, architectural lighting, and the soaring curved ceiling create a space unlike a typical second floor and give the interior its signature look. Outside, the property continues to stand apart with a fully fenced yard, mature palms, fresh landscaping, stone beds, low-voltage landscape lighting, a thatched entry awning, and a wide crushed-shell driveway with plenty of room for multiple vehicles, a boat, or an RV. No HOA. No CDD. Completely renovated and move-in ready. Whether you’re looking for a primary residence, seasonal Florida getaway, or an investment property that guests will actually remember, 2881 Gentian Rd combines genuine character, modern finishes, and an architectural identity all its own. THIS ISN’T ANOTHER COOKIE-CUTTER FLORIDA HOUSE — IT’S THE DOME.
Need a new DOMEicile? This unique home was built in 2007 and has plastic plumbing, septic, hurricane shutters and best of all, city water! The building has two bedrooms, a full bath and kitchen on the ground floor. About half of the dome is decked in for a second floor living room. Water and power service are on but repairs are needed. RSF-3
Residential Single-Family District
The RSF Districts permit single-family residential densities, which may take the form of single-family detached or cluster subdivisions; Cluster subdivisions may include lot line, traditional, patio, villa, atrium, duplex, or townhouse units. The nature of the use of property is the same in all RSF Districts, with variation among the RSF-1, RSF-2, RSF-3 and RSF-4 Districts in the requirements for density, lot area and width, and yards; A limited number of nonresidential uses are allowed, subject to the restrictions and requirements necessary to preserve and protect the single-family residential character of the neighborhood; The RSF Districts are generally used to implement the Comprehensive Plan within those areas shown as Low Density, Moderate Density and Medium Density Residential on the Future Land Use Map and on the Barrier Islands where the application of the district would not increase the density of development or hamper hurricane evacuation planning and disaster mitigation efforts. Locations on the Barrier Islands that have existing RSF zoning are acknowledged, and are considered to be consistent with the Future Land Use Map. The RSF-4 District is also used to implement the Comprehensive Plan in the areas shown as Office/Multifamily Residential Area and Corridor on the Future Land Use; The RSF-4 District, while not a primary implementing district, may also be allowed in Regional, Community, Village I, Village II, and Neighborhood Commercial Centers. Appropriate densities within the Low; Moderate or Medium Density Residential areas shall be guided by the density ranges as outlined in Future Land Use Policy 1.1.1, Objective 2.3, and Policy 2.3.1 of the Comprehensive Plan; These densities shall also be determined, in part, by the land use designations and developed residential areas surrounding the parcel.
