PUD
Planned Unit Development District
The PUD district is established to offer a residential development alternative that provides greater flexibility and encourages more design creativity than may be available under conventional development approaches. The intent of the PUD is to promote the design of largely and primarily residential neighborhoods, that incorporates commercial, recreational, civic, and institutional uses that support the neighborhoods. It also provides for preservation of natural features and scenic areas and promotes creation of a continuous non-vehicular circulation system. The PUD is consistent will all Residential, Commercial, and Regional Commercial/LSMU Future Land Use Map designations of the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan. When the PUD is located in the EPA, consistency with the Comprehensive Plan includes Residential A, B, and C Future Land Use Map designations, along with the Equestrian Commercial Recreation Future Land Use Map designation and is referred to as an Equestrian Development ED.
