Huelo, located between Haiku and Keanae, is a rural and coastal Haiku-Pauwela neighborhood with winding one-lane roads and deep gulches cut by waterfalls. The neighborhood’s character concentrates along Hana Highway near the Huelo Lookout, where roadside pull-offs, fruit stands, and ocean-facing viewpoints set an unhurried rhythm. Plantation-era cottages and tucked-away farmsteads sit among bamboo, eucalyptus, and taro patches, with frequent glimpses of the North Shore. Twin Falls anchors the area’s outdoor culture with short trails and swimming holes. Nearby, Garden of Eden Arboretum frames the landscape with curated paths and lookouts. A drive through Huelo reads like a living postcard of East Maui’s wet side.
