The story of the Dater Residence on Table Rock began in 1977 when Thomas and Cathy Dater commissioned architect Don Gile to create an elegant home on a spacious view lot. What resulted is a striking single level home in a loosely Modern style, with soaring 14-foot ceilings and walls of glass to take in the dramatic sunsets and the sparkling lights of the city below. While the design is sleek it also exudes warmth and personality often absent from many of the strictly Modern era designs. The original wood tile floors are as unique as they are stunning. Over the years the home has had several quality renovations, including a marble clad primary bath, an on-suite sauna, a gourmet kitchen with Wolf appliances, and a separate guest suite with its own kitchenette. Much attention was given to the grounds as well, with mature trees that create the impression of a lush park floating above the city. At dusk the effect is almost surreal; it must be experienced as photos do not capture the alchemy.
