STUNNINGLY RENOVATED 5,000 SQ FT CUSTOM HOME IN BARRINGTON ON NEARLY 2 ACRES. Set within the highly sought-after Heritage Trails community-originally designed and built with custom homes by Michael Graft Sr.-this thoughtfully renovated residence blends timeless architecture with elevated, design-forward living across approximately 5,000 square feet of living space on a picturesque 2-acre lot. Originally built in 1985 and extensively updated between 2017 and 2020, the home has been meticulously maintained with a clear emphasis on quality craftsmanship, intentional design, and functional space, including abundant storage thoughtfully integrated throughout. At the heart of the home is a stunning, fully custom kitchen featuring bamboo and walnut cabinetry by renowned artisan Paul Kenworthy-whose work is associated with Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired homes-paired with exceptional detail throughout, including extra-deep 30" cabinetry, push-open storage solutions, a cabinet-depth refrigerator, double ovens, and dual elevated Bosch dishwashers, all complemented by hand-blown Murano glass light fixtures imported from Italy. The dining space continues this level of craftsmanship with a custom walnut table designed specifically for the home, comfortably seating 12-14 guests and perfectly integrated with the surrounding millwork, while Brazilian pecan hardwood floors run throughout the main living areas adding warmth and continuity. Beyond aesthetics, the home has been comprehensively updated from a mechanical and systems standpoint, including three furnaces, two A/C units, a Kohler Built in backup generator, new well pump and filtration systems, and nearly all Marvin windows, offering true peace of mind. Outdoor living is equally impressive, with expansive decks featuring integrated lighting, professionally maintained landscaping, smart irrigation, and unique kinetic sculptures enhancing the setting, while the finished lower level is designed for entertaining with a wet bar, built-ins, and generous gathering space. A three-car garage completes the home, delivering both practicality and additional storage. Every detail reflects a cohesive vision and a deep level of thought, delivering a truly custom home experience in one of the area's most desirable communities.

E
Estate District
The E, Estate and R-1 Districts are intended to accommodate low-density, large-lot residential development and to ensure the protection of areas that develop in such a manner. These districts are a higher density version of the very-low density RE District. Like the RE District, the E and R-1 Districts are expected to accommodate only a very small amount of the county’s overall housing needs. These districts primarily serve those households who desire to live in low-density estate areas and are willing to assume the costs of doing so. Because of the relatively sparse population in E-zoned and R-1-zoned areas, the county will not give high priority to the provision of public services in the areas. Instead, public service provision by the county will be concentrated in areas where more intense future development is called for by the Regional Framework Plan. The low densities permitted in the E and R-1 Districts generally permit in accordance with applicable Lake County Health Department rules; see Chapter 171 on-site, individual sewage disposal systems and wells, thereby reducing the need for inefficient public expenditures. The E and R-1 Districts are intended to implement and correspond to the Regional Framework Plan’s Residential-Medium Lot future land use designation.
