Bank-owned iconic and unique 8500 square foot log house in Libertyville. Many years ago the property was part of John Cuneo's 1100 acre estate. This landscaped 3 acre property has tons of mature trees and a pond. A 3 car garage with a workshop is attached to the main house which has 7 bedrooms, 5.2 baths, a dramatic 2-story livingroom, a south-facing family room on the main floor, a second family room upstairs with a wet bar, and too much more to mention! In addition, there's a separate coach house with a large (1072SF) apartment, plus there's a large log cabin storage shed. This neighborhood is rural-residential. You'll feel like you're miles away from everything, but you can be in vibrant downtown Libertyville in about 5 minutes. Lake Minear and its park are just down the road, and Vernon Hills or Lake Bluff are about 10 minutes away. There's excellent public transit to points south of Libertyville via the Metra Milwaukee District North Line. Park at the Libertyville station and arrive in Chicago stress-free. There's easy access to I94 to go anywhere you need to. See floorplans and realvision 360 tour in photos. Property is being sold in as-is condition.

R-1
Residential District
The R-1 Districts are intended to accommodate low-density, large-lot residential development and to ensure the protection of areas that develop in such a manner. These districts are a higher density version of the very-low density RE District. Like the RE District, the E and R-1 Districts are expected to accommodate only a very small amount of the county’s overall housing needs. These districts primarily serve those households who desire to live in low-density estate areas and are willing to assume the costs of doing so. Because of the relatively sparse population in E-zoned and R-1-zoned areas, the county will not give high priority to the provision of public services in the areas. Instead, public service provision by the county will be concentrated in areas where more intense future development is called for by the Regional Framework Plan. The low densities permitted in the E and R-1 Districts generally permit in accordance with applicable Lake County Health Department rules; see Chapter 171 on-site, individual sewage disposal systems and wells, thereby reducing the need for inefficient public expenditures. The R-1 Districts are intended to implement and correspond to the Regional Framework Plan’s Residential-Medium Lot future land use designation.
