On entering the driveway flanked by a white wood fence, you'll see the traditional gleaming white farmhouse with a wrap-around porch that speaks to Country Living in every way you've imagined! Directly ahead are pristinely restored barns which are ready to house your horses and a multitude of feathered and furry friends! Along with the main barn, the farm offers a chicken coop for chicks and fresh eggs, and a huge Quonset-style barn with awesome architecture you will appreciate from the curved, open-beamed interior. Additionally, there's a 3rd barn, corn crib, cistern building and a wash house. The oversized 3-car detached garage provides plenty of room for your vehicles, a workshop area and a quaint potting area. The outbuildings are painted the quintessential red of many Midwestern farms with the bright white farmhouse providing a vivid contrast and their condition is EXCEPTIONAL!! This Americana setting resulted in several commercials being filmed at this perfect location! The back porch leads you to a delightfully unusual mud-room with a 3 spigot sink, hot/cold and the middle spigot that was connected directly to a rainwater cistern! The massive country kitchen has been thoughtfully renovated, with a wall of classic vintage cabinetry (including a potato bin!) and paired with updated amenities such as an island, solid surface countertops, and a peninsula breakfast bar/workspace that speaks to the original design and style of yesteryear. Stunning hardwood floors were discovered under layers of previous floor coverings and meticulously refinished by the current owners to restore their intended beauty. One step from the kitchen is an expansive Butler Pantry with even more cabinetry for kitchen storage. Hardwood floors flow throughout the formal living room, dining room with built-in China cabinet, family room, and office. Tucked away is a study with a sunny window and two walls of built-in bookcases. There's also a convenient first floor full bath, complete with a clawfoot tub that you would expect to see and enjoy in a home of this character. There are 2 staircases that lead to the 2nd floor where you'll find the generous-sized bedrooms and walk-in closets. The Primary bedroom includes a 9x8 walk-in closet with shelving and an attached walk-through bathroom with a double-sink vanity. Long windows bathe this remarkable home with natural light and miles of country landscapes. You'll recognize real quality when you enter the basement and see the stone foundation and tree limb pillars to support the structure. Remaining are the rainwater collection tanks and the reminder of simpler days gone by. Over 6 acres are tilled and can continue as such or use as pasture and paddocks as needed. Relax and stay awhile on the porch, let your imagination run, and you'll see the endless possibilities of this magnificent property, from a working farm to weddings and barn dances under a canopy of stringed lights; it's waiting for you to make memories and be the next caretaker of this treasured home! Make sure you watch the aerial video!

A-1
Agricultural District
It is recognized that the public health and welfare of the citizens of DeKalb County are greatly dependent upon the sustenance and economic benefits provided by a viable agricultural industry. The intent of this district is to ensure that land areas in the County that are well suited for production of food and fiber are retained for such production, unimpeded by the establishment of incompatible uses which would hinder farm operations and irretrievably deplete agricultural lands; The A-1 District acknowledges that agriculture is a specialized form of industry characterized by the production through biological and botanical processes of saleable farm products as a result of the combination of raw materials soils, seeds, plants, water, and nutrients, manpower farm labor and machinery, and energy solar and power equipment.
