Tucked away on a coveted private road, yet just steps to town of Hubbard Woods, is an architecturally significant, solidly-built renovated home on 2/3 acre of breathtaking grounds with mature trees and lush landscaping. Clean lines and pristine, this updated 6BR/4.1 BA home was built in 1925 by noted architect John Van Bergen with Wisconsin limestone exemplifying organic architecture in harmony with nature. Throughout the home, the open grandly scaled rooms with large windows accentuate the verdant surroundings. The expansive bright living room centered by a wood burning fireplace is adjacent to a wonderful sunroom with natural limestone walls and panoramic vistas of the beautiful gardens, sharing the vistas is a gracious dining room. A sleek gourmet kitchen (2020 renovation) opens to a fabulous family room addition with soaring 16 ft. ceilings and radiant heat floors; this room is symbiotic with the outside through the many windows. Upstairs there are six large bedrooms including a spacious primary with a recently renovated luxurious primary bath (2020). Five large additional bedrooms share an updated Jack and Jill bath and two recently renovated baths. The basement has a large rec room with natural light, laundry, and a bedroom/bath opportunity. Single-Family Residential District
The requirements set forth in this chapter, together with other provisions set forth in the Building Code of the Village, have been adopted in order to provide for a single-family residential environment of relatively small estate character, where the degree of improvements upon an individual parcel of land is generally subordinate to the landscape. Due to the mature character of development within this district, such requirements are also intended to assure that future modifications to existing structures, or the replacement of existing structures with new structures, will not alter the scale and general character of established neighborhoods. In this regard, the requirements set forth in this chapter are further intended to foster development which is compatible, in general, with the character of existing single-family development within the immediate neighborhood with respect to external architectural scale, landscaping and other site improvements.
