116 N Pamet Rd, Truro, MA 02666

Dunes, salt-kissed ocean, and trails of seagrass, shrub oak and pines surround this remarkable beach retreat -- at once historic and thoroughly of the present. Originally dating to 1899 and overlooking Ballston Beach, the home was relocated from the dune's edge and substantially reimagined in 2009, without sacrificing its turn-of-the-century soul. The first floor offers a flexible bedroom or office, artist's studio or home gym, and full bath. Step outside to a private outdoor shower open to the sky and the quintessential Truro landscape. The second floor's open living, dining, and kitchen area flows to a screened porch and covered open porch, all framed by ocean and dune views. The third floor hosts three bedrooms and a full-length covered veranda. Original fir floors, reclaimed butternut paneling, a modern kitchen with new appliances, and a woodstove for winter nights reflect a home loved by only two recent owners. Hurricane-rated windows, electronic storm shutters, whole-house generator, and radiant floor heat bring quiet confidence to every season. History, craftsmanship, and the sound of the sea -- all in one.
