RP
Rural Preservation District
It is the purpose of this district to permit agricultural and related uses as well as low density single-family homes, along with necessary service and special uses, in a manner that is consistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan of the township. Limiting the type and density of development within these districts will minimize development pressures upon the remaining agricultural lands and will help preserve open space, wetlands, topographical relief, and tree cover, all of which are abundant within these areas. It is further intended to defer or prolong the necessity of extending public utilities into these areas by requiring more intense development to locate within other zone districts where public utilities are available or are planned to become available. Residential clustering as regulated in chapter 28, Planned Unit Development District is permitted where public utilities are available.
