R-1
Single Family Residential District
The intent of the R-1, Single Family Residential District is to provide neighborhoods of predominantly one-family detached dwellings that are developed consistent with the established or desired form of the area, along with other associated uses and facilities e.g. cultural, religious, education, governmental that serve residents of the district. It is further the intent of this district to prohibit or restrict land uses that would interfere with the development or maintenance of single-family neighborhoods; generate traffic on local roads in excess of typical residential traffic; or, create public service costs and requirements in excess of the costs and requirements of a typical single-family residential neighborhood. Preservation of open space, protection of flood prone areas, protection of wooded areas, and preservation of natural features is encouraged.
