Interested in a barndominium for your next home? This century old barn was reclaimed, giving it new life into a home around 1967 and has been modestly and thoughtfully updated over the years. The unique architecture of this home offers four levels of living space, elevated ceiling with exposed timber frame construction and overlooks to lower level and tree-top views outside. This unique and special multi story home sits on a knoll overlooking a scenic 4.1 acres and includes a pond with a depth of 12 feet and some woods for exploration, a one-of-a-kind opportunity in the Okemos School District and Greater Lansing area. Respectful use of the historic wood and stone elements, and the well-planned improvements will surprise and delight those searching for a diversely styled architecture home. Living space on four levels equates to around 3800 sq. The main floor (level 2) features a modernized kitchen with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. There is a private office and additional flex room for study/gaming/hobbies, a formal dining room, a recently repurposed porch to an enclosed sunroom (18 x 7), as well as access to the elevator to this floor to the lower level only. The open family room with a two story masonry fireplace is a magical space to bring everyone together. Upstairs leads to the second floor where the primary bedroom and newly renovated primary bath resides. Up another short flight of stairs to the third floor to the loft area, bedrooms 2 and 3, and full bath. The second-floor hall also leads to the nest bedroom #4, on the third floor, and perfect for someone with agility, the desire for fun privacy and the need for storage! The lower-level is partially finished and offers a recreational area with wood stove, access to a glassed enclosed porch, laundry, ½ bath that is plumbed for a full bath, storage mechanical room, elevator access and to the attached garage. The grounds include a pond for fishing in the summer or skating and a sledding hill in the winter? Trails and woods to explore and a shed, maybe for chickens? Recent updates include brand new primary bath with live edge countertop, most of the windows have been replaced, cellulose insulation added, interior paint, exterior paint and updates to the deck and rail system. The location is wonderful. A little bit of countryside, but close to schools, shopping, expressways, dining and more! The property is delightful, special and romantic, maybe yours?

RR
One-Family Rural Residential Districts
A one-family residential district implies a predominant occurrence of dwelling structures located on individual lots of land and housing only one family or household group. There exists, however, a range of preference relative to the character and size of individual residential properties that prompts creation of at least three one-family residential districts. Furthermore, in consideration of the excessive cost of extending water and sewerage service to all areas of the Township, the establishment of a zoning district in which spacious lots are required makes it reasonably possible to obtain a continuous supply of safe, potable water on the immediate property and to treat sewage by septic tank followed by the disposal of the effluent on the same property. This section, therefore, establishes the RR one-family rural residential district, together with the regulations for all permitted land uses. It is the purpose of this section to establish a district composed of residential properties of a semirural character and one that includes facilities for an extended period of time into the future. This district includes existing low-density one-family properties as well as areas within which such development appears both likely and desirable, and the availability of water and sewers by itself shall not constitute cause for instituting a higher density zoning.
