Located in the heart of Highland Acres, one of Bismarck's most beloved neighborhoods, this classic ranch-style home offers the kind of setting many buyers spend years hoping to find. With tree lined streets, neighborhood summer concerts, and one of the city's most cherished elementary schools just a short walk away, Highland Acres carries a small town feel while sitting right in the center of everything Bismarck has to offer. Inside, the home reflects a timeless design that has aged gracefully. The expansive floor plan offers defined living spaces, creating a comfortable flow that feels both functional and inviting. Maple hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, and thoughtfully designed living areas give the home a warmth and character that never go out of style. The kitchen blends classic craftsmanship with everyday usability, featuring alder cabinetry, granite countertops, a butcher block island, gas cooktop, and double ovens. Just beyond, the three-season sunroom offers a bright and relaxing space to enjoy morning coffee or unwind in the evenings while overlooking the backyard. The finished lower level adds significant living space, highlighted by a striking Chicago brick gas fireplace that anchors a spacious family room. A large lower-level bedroom with an attached 3/4 bath provides flexibility for guests, hobbies, or additional private living space. Outside, the shaded north facing deck and patio create a comfortable retreat for summer evenings, while the large backyard provides plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors. This home has been well cared for over the years, including shingles replaced in 2023, and offers an excellent opportunity for the next owner to enjoy its classic style while adding personal touches over time. Homes in Highland Acres rarely come available, and when they do, it's easy to see why so many people hope to call this neighborhood home.

R5
Single-Family Residential District
The R5 residential district is established as a district in which the principal use of land is for single-family dwellings. For the R5 residential district, in promoting the general purposes of this title, the specific intent of this section is: To encourage the construction or placement of, and the continued use of the land for single-family dwellings on urban lots.; To protect the quiet enjoyment of residential property and discourage all uses or activities that interfere with or detract from these principal uses of this zoning district.; To encourage the discontinuance of existing uses that would not be permitted as new uses under the provisions of this title.; To discourage any use which would generate traffic on minor streets other than normal traffic to serve residents on those streets.; To discourage any use which because of its character or size would create requirements and costs for public services, such as police and fire protection, water supply and sewerage, substantially in excess of such requirements and costs if the district were developed solely for single-family dwellings.
